#40 – Zoe Pia & Tenores di Orosei "Antoni Milia"
Archaic sounds from Sardinia meet contemporary jazz on Sunday, July 6 at 11:00 AM – a truly special concert in the heart of Ridnaun’s mountain landscape!
As part of the South Tyrol Jazzfestival, an extraordinary musical highlight takes place: Sardinian musician Zoe Pia joins forces with the legendary Tenores di Orosei "Antoni Milia".
The ensemble combines the archaic „Canto a Tenore“ – a Sardinian polyphonic throat singing with lead voice (voche), alto voice (mesu voche), baritone (contra), and bass (bassu) – with modern jazz elements. Launeddas (traditional Sardinian wind instruments), saxophone, and four powerful solo voices merge into a unique sound world.
